BALLROOM AND LINE DANCING

Join a group Today!

TAI CHI FAN CLASS

Line dancing finishes at 12 noon sharp. Tai Chi Fan classes are held on Tuesdays and Saturdays starting at 12 noon.  This has turned out to be very convenient as now more people can come in to join the class at a set time following Line dancing.

The moves are set and if you attend regularly you will soon learn how to do it.  Stuart Chung and Amanda Fung are very competent and teach the movements to all members who are keen to learn the dance.  We welcome anyone who is interested to come and try a session.

Contact Stuart on 380-8290, or email him if you are interested in trying a class or two.

LINE DANCING

Line Dancing restarted at the Centre on January 12th this year.  All members were keen to come back and we have full attendance.  Our classes have become a great place for regular exercise and a place for the retired to socialise as well.  If you are interested in joining then just come along to a session at 10 am on Tuesday or Saturday mornings at the WCSCC.  You can also contact Stuart Chung on 380-8290, or email him for more information.

Wendy Chan and Ruby Chan have volunteered to arrange functions for members to meet for “get togethers” every now and then so our members have an opportunity to socialise outside of the line dance classes.  Visitors have remarked on the camaraderie of the line dance class.

We continue to get new members and it’s great to see older people wanting to join in and make the effort to do some easy exercise.  Avelyne is a very patient and able teacher and continues to welcome all who join the classes. She adapts her classes to suit the younger and the older members.  It is good to know that there is this great facility at the WCSCC for members to enjoy.

BALLROOM

We have an enthusiastic group of ballroom dancers.  New comers and old hands are very welcome to participate at any time for ballroom, latin and new vogue. Classes are more beneficial if you sign up a block of classes  - usually followng the school term dates.

Classes are held on a Sunday evening and are an hour long and the cost is $15 per person per lesson.

Class times are as follows:

Beginners                   6.30pm - 7.30pm

Intermediates             7.30pm - 8.30pm

Advance                     8.30pm - 9.30pm

We also hold practice evenings on a Wednesday evening at 8pm and all are welcome to attend at no extra cost.

Our teacher is Jackie Drakeford who is a well known adjudicator at many ballroom competitions.
