WHO WE ARE

The WCSCC prides itself on being the only NZ Chinese association who has their own home (facility) for over 35 years.  On weekends, the Centre is a hive of activity for all age groups.  We provide a number of different activities, including Basketball  for all ages, cultural activites include dragon and lion dancing, Cantonese class for school aged children. The day concludes with Ballroom dancing classes for the light footed!   Many social activites are held here in the spacious gymnasium for the club which is also available for hire.  The Chinese Dragon, Lion and dancing girls performances are available for hire for private and community functions.   Our hall is hired out for many different purposes within the community - such as other sports (Futsal,netball, volleyball, roller derby), functions and parties and as a general large open space.  The sprung wooden floor is great for dancing, martial arts and sports.  

The active retired enjoy line dancing and fan dance on Tuesdays and Saturday mornings.  Yau Yih Yun class for pre-school children is on Wednesday and Saturday mornings.  Chinese Dancing is popular with the school age girls where they showcase their lovely dances during Chinese New Year celebrations.

 Today, generations of our Chinese community enjoy the social, sporting, cultural and educational benefits that the Wellington Chinese Sports & Cultural Centre (WCSCC) provides.
